The Clock Tower of İzmir
The clock Tower of İzmir in the Konak Circle was built by Grand Vezir (Prime Minister) Küçük Sait Paşa in 1901 as a monument for the 25th anniversary year of Sultan Abdülhamid II's ascencion to throne. The clock of the tower is the gift of German Emperor Wilhelm II. There are fountains with columns and domes at the corners of the base of 25-meter/76-feet-high tower. The Tower, still functioning, is the symbol of İzmir.
