![]() This is Me ! E-Mail: |
You can easily say that I was one of the most enthusiastic and ambitious citizens of Turkey. My curiosity of learning anything and everything never ends. (Even though they say "Curiosity kills the cat" or "There's no end of learning"!.) This must have been engraved in me by my elderlies. But here is what happened to me:
I was born in Izmir, Turkey (which has been and is the third largest city of Turkey) in the year of 1943. Here, I can not give you the exact birth-day because, then, they did not have the habit of recording the birth-days. But, coincidentally, my mother put down the day (even the hour) I was born. The idea of my mother's putting down my birth-date as 21st of January 1944 was to delay my military service for one year - It even delayed it for 7 years :-))) When I was 6 years old, I was sent for my education on various subjects which lasted 21 years. During this period, I went through elementary schools, college (see the page Education ) and university generally on the subjects of Finance, Economics, and, Foreign Trade & Tourism. When I had the opportunity, I began to work for the US Air Force in Izmir starting from the year of 1961 occupying various posts like clerk/typist, ground safety technician, but mostly as interpreter/translator until 1979. However, from 1962 onwards, off and on, I guided the American GIs and the guests coming to Turkey at various archaeological sites located in the Aegean Region of Turkey and ever since then I've been guiding and I don't think I'll quit it until I die! Speaking about guiding: For the readers who are interested in my private life: Anyone interested in contacting me, please feel free to send E-Mail.
